Allison Cara Tolman has been an actor for more than twenty years. She is best known for her performance as Molly Solverson in the first season of the FX the television show Fargo. It stars the veteran cast of Bob Odenkirk, Martin Freeman as well as Billy Bob Thornton. Tolman was praised for her portrayal of Minnesota the Police officer Molly Solverson. Vanity Fair wrote that Tolman "calmly took over" the show. For her role, she was awarded the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Film/Miniseries, and received Best Actress nominations at the Emmy Awards and for the Golden Globes. Tolman's guest role in The Mindy Project as romance novelist Abby Berman for two episodes that premiered on the same day. Tolman turned down a variety of supporting roles, like those that were played by wives, mothers and friends, following her first appearance in Fargo. Tolman wanted a new character. In 2017, Tolman starred in ABC's Downward Dog, based on the Animal Media Group web series which was cancelled following one season. Tolman was known as a Twitter user, claimed that she had "pretty impressive" numbers for The ABC drama Emergence. It premiered in September of 2019, however, it was cancelled after one season that ended on May 21, 2020. [citation needed] She also appeared as a guest on the NBC series Good Girls.
